Sam is a native Texan - well almost - he moved to Houston when he was three!    His talent was recognized early on as a bass player when he was accepted in to the prestigious High School of Performing and Visual Arts in Houston and was selected to tour Denmark and Norway at the age of 17 as part of that school's Jazz Big Band Ensemble.   His mentor at that school, Dr Robert Morgan is now a member of the International Association for Jazz Education Hall of Fame (amongst such illustrious company as Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie).   Sam attended school as a jazz major and orchestra minor at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and toured with Merle Haggard for several summers during this time.   He has performed on various cruise ships for many years in the capacity of Showband Bassist and is currently performing with his wife Margie in dual capacity as her Musical Director / Bassist and duo partner.  

Margie is originally from Brisbane, Australia and has a background in classical piano.   She achieved her Masters Degree in Music from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Australia and promptly moved to Boston to study jazz at Berklee School of Music.  During her time at Berklee she worked as a session vocalist and she has recorded several albums including one produced by respected Latino producer Carlos Campos.     She has appeared at all of the top venues in Boston and on the East Coast both as a vocalist and solo pianist.   She too has performed for many years on several cruise ships but is happiest now working with her husband and Musical Director Sam, both as a Headline Cabaret Artist and Pianist / Vocalist.
